Terms of Service

1. About these Terms

These Terms govern your access to and use of Happnin. Happnin is operated by Daniel Pop, a sole proprietor based in the Netherlands (“Happnin”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By using Happnin, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. What Happnin provides

Happnin brings together local events, news, and community marketplace listings for a city you choose. Content may be submitted directly by organisers and users or obtained from third-party event and news sources.

Happnin may link to external ticketing or information providers. Unless expressly stated otherwise, Happnin is not the organiser, ticket seller, news publisher, or marketplace seller and is not a party to transactions completed outside Happnin.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 16 years old to use Happnin. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian before posting content, making a paid organiser submission, or entering a marketplace transaction.

You can browse many features without an account. Account features require accurate information and secure sign-in credentials. You are responsible for activity under your account and must notify us if you believe it has been compromised.

4. Content you submit

You retain ownership of events, marketplace listings, photos, and other content you submit. You grant Happnin a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, resize, display, distribute, and use that content only as reasonably needed to operate, promote, and improve Happnin. This licence ends when the content is deleted, except for cached copies, legal records, or material already shared as permitted by these Terms.

You confirm that you have the necessary rights and permissions to submit the content and that the information is accurate. Do not submit content that:

• is illegal, fraudulent, deceptive, or materially misleading;
• infringes intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or other rights;
• is hateful, threatening, harassing, sexually explicit, exploitative, or abusive;
• promotes prohibited, stolen, counterfeit, dangerous, or regulated goods;
• contains malware, spam, unauthorised advertising, or attempts to manipulate the service.

5. Event submissions and moderation

Organiser-submitted events may be reviewed before publication. Submission does not guarantee approval, publication, ranking, attendance, or ticket sales. We may edit formatting, request clarification, reject, unpublish, or remove an event where reasonably necessary for quality, safety, legal compliance, or enforcement of these Terms.

You are responsible for the event’s accuracy, legality, permissions, safety, fulfilment, cancellation information, and any promises made to attendees.

6. Paid organiser submissions

Where displayed in the submission flow, publishing an organiser event in certain cities costs €10 per submission. Other cities may be free. The applicable price is shown before checkout. Payment is processed by Paddle, and its checkout terms and privacy policy also apply.

• Payment does not guarantee approval or publication.
• If Happnin rejects a paid submission, Happnin will initiate a full refund to the original payment method.
• If payment succeeds but no submission is completed, contact us to request a refund of the unused transaction.
• Refund arrival times depend on Paddle, the payment method, and your financial institution.
• Approved and published submissions are generally not refundable merely because attendance, engagement, or ticket sales are lower than expected. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

7. Marketplace

Happnin only provides a place to display community listings. We do not own, inspect, verify, endorse, deliver, insure, or guarantee listed items or users. We do not process marketplace payments and are not a party to agreements between buyers and sellers.

Users are responsible for checking items, counterparties, legality, payment arrangements, taxes, and personal safety. Meet in a safe public place where appropriate, inspect items before paying, and never send money when you suspect fraud.

8. Third-party content, events, and links

Event details, news, images, availability, prices, and external links may come from third parties. They can change or contain errors. Verify important information with the organiser, publisher, venue, or ticket provider before travelling, purchasing, or relying on it.

Third-party services have their own terms and privacy policies. Happnin is not responsible for their content, availability, transactions, refunds, or conduct.

9. Acceptable use

You must not misuse Happnin, interfere with its operation, access it without authorisation, scrape or harvest data in violation of law or technical restrictions, evade moderation, impersonate others, probe for vulnerabilities, or use the service to harm another person.

10. Moderation, suspension, and termination

We may remove content, limit features, suspend, or terminate access where we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated, users are at risk, the law requires it, or the service is being abused. Where appropriate, we may provide notice or an opportunity to correct the issue.

You may stop using Happnin at any time. To request account or data deletion, email support@happnin.info.

11. Intellectual property

Except for user and third-party content, Happnin’s software, design, branding, and original materials belong to Daniel Pop or the applicable licensors. These Terms do not transfer ownership to you. You may not copy, modify, sell, or distribute them except as permitted by law or with written permission.

12. Availability and disclaimers

Happnin is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We aim to keep it useful, secure, and accurate, but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, complete coverage, error-free content, or any particular outcome from using the service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

13. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Happnin is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost opportunities, loss caused by third-party content or services, event cancellation, marketplace transactions, user conduct, or reliance on information that you should verify independently.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to reasonably foreseeable loss directly caused by our breach. Nothing limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

14. Copyright and rights complaints

If content on Happnin infringes your copyright, privacy, or other rights, email support@happnin.info with the affected content, the basis of your claim, your contact details, and any supporting information. We may remove content while reviewing a complaint.

15. Changes to Happnin or these Terms

We may change, suspend, or discontinue features and update these Terms as Happnin develops. We will post the revised Terms and update the date above. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide additional notice where required. Continuing to use Happnin after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Disputes are subject to the competent courts of the Netherlands, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections or the right to bring proceedings available under the law of their country of residence.
