Copyright notices and DMCA policy
This policy concerns material uploaded by Happnin users, including photos in Events, Marketplace listings and Community posts. Registration of a designated agent is not a copyright licence, a registration of the app's copyright, or a guarantee of safe-harbor protection.
Designated agent
Copyright Manager, Daniel PopNienke van Hichtumstraat, 33

Send a copyright notice
Send a written notice to the designated agent by email or post, or use the copyright notice form in Happnin. An account is not required. Include:
- Your physical or electronic signature as the copyright owner or an authorised representative.
- Identification of the copyrighted work, or a representative list if multiple works are involved.
- Identification of the material complained of and enough information to locate it in Happnin, such as its item link or ID, section and city.
- Your name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement that the information is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorised to act for the owner of the exclusive right allegedly infringed.
Open the copyright notice form. If you cannot identify an item in the form, send its location and your notice by email instead.
Submission is not an automatic finding of infringement. An administrator reviews notices and responds expeditiously to valid notices by removing or disabling access to the identified material. We notify identified uploaders through their in-app copyright cases and notices. We may contact parties by email for further information.
Counter-notices
If you believe access was disabled through mistake or misidentification, you may send a written counter-notice to the agent or use Copyright cases in the app. Include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material and the location where it appeared before access was disabled.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled because of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address and telephone number, and an email address for correspondence.
- A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the US Federal District Court for the district in which your address is located; if your address is outside the United States, to the jurisdiction of any judicial district in which Happnin may be found. Also state that you accept service of process from the person who submitted the notice or that person's agent.
After a valid counter-notice, we promptly forward a copy to the original claimant and inform them that access is expected to be restored in 10 business days. We restore access not less than 10 and not more than 14 business days after receipt of the valid counter-notice, unless the designated agent first receives notice that the claimant has filed an action seeking a court order restraining the relevant activity. Administrators review deadlines and court notices; restoration is not performed automatically.
Privacy and legal statements
Copyright notices and counter-notices contain personal contact details and legal declarations. We share notices with the affected uploader and counter-notices with the original claimant as needed to handle the process. Do not submit unrelated sensitive information. Complaints, evidence and correspondence are kept in access-restricted case records as needed to resolve disputes, meet legal obligations and establish or defend claims. Contact the agent or the privacy contact to ask about these records.
Knowingly materially misrepresenting infringement or mistake can have legal consequences. Consider independent legal advice before submitting a notice or counter-notice.
Repeat infringement
Happnin adopts and reasonably implements a policy providing for termination in appropriate circumstances of accounts belonging to repeat infringers. We may restrict uploading and posting while reviewing repeated or substantiated infringement and may terminate access in appropriate circumstances. An administrator considers the circumstances, the validity of notices, counter-notices, withdrawals and court outcomes; there is no automatic strike count or assumption that an allegation proves infringement. Users can still contact the agent and exercise applicable counter-notice rights.
Happnin accommodates and does not interfere with standard technical measures within the meaning of 17 USC 512(i).
Other valid legal restrictions may continue to apply when a particular copyright block is lifted. We cannot retrieve copies already downloaded by other people or guarantee deletion of third-party caches.
